The children's memorial fountain above is located at Fondren Presbyterian Church facing Old Canton Rd. The original statue/fountain was installed September 2003 at another location.  The statue was made of bronze and designed with five children climbing up and playing in the water.  That statue was stolen and broken into pieces.  Members of the Jackson chapter lovingly chose a new statue to replace the one stolen. The children shown inside the pool above were saved from the original statue and placed inside the pool.

The fountain has been winterized because of freezing weather.  It will be restarted around March of 2023.  We want to thank Fondren Church for taking care of the maintenance on the fountain.

The Jackson Mississippi Chapter of The Compassionate Friends meets at 1:00 pm on the second Saturday of every month at Fondren Presbyterian Church (in the fellowship hall), 3220 Old Canton Road Jackson, Mississippi.

The mission of The Compassionate Friends is to assist families toward the positive resolution of grief following the death of a child of any age and to provide information to help others be supportive.

Our monthly meetings offer a safe place for bereaved parents, grandparents, and siblings to meet and talk freely about your child and your grief issues. We are available to any family member who has had a child die from any cause, at any age. No one is required to speak, but non-judgmental listening is expected.

The Compassionate Friends charge no dues or fees of any kind, nor do we have any religious affiliation. Persons of all faiths (or no faith), creeds, and races are welcome. The Jackson Chapter produces a free, online monthly newsletter and maintains a lending library of grief related books and materials available to all members to share. You can also find us on Facebook.

This website is meant to assist in the unfair journey after the death of a child. Our members have a wide range of backgrounds and experiences, but they can all relate to what you are experiencing. Please visit our pages and attend our monthly meetings. We are so very sorry for your loss.
